PKK: Magical Underwater Flowerpots

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Princess Kaitlyn. She lived in a beautiful castle by an enchanted forest, a magical lake, and a fantastically fun playground. One day, Princess Kaitlyn walked through the castle grounds picking handfuls of beautiful flowers. As she walked by the magical lake looking for more flowers to complete her bouquet, Mariana the mermaid swam to the water's edge to see her friend Princess Kaitlyn. Mariana admired Princess Kaitlyn's flowers. She told Princess Kaitlyn that they didn't have pretty flowers like that under the water because the sunshine didn't reach far enough below the water's surface.

Princess Kaitlyn felt sad for Mariana and her mermaid friends. She couldn't imagine living somewhere without pretty colorful flowers. So, Princess Kaitlyn ran back to the castle, grabbed her bucket and ran back to the magical lake. She scooped a bunch of sand and soil from the magical lake and ran into the enchanted forest. Princess Kaitlyn found the old wise Ms. Toad and asked her to help her find enchanted seeds that would grow large, colorful flowers in the magical lake soil her mermaid friends. The catch was that these flowers had to blossom underwater.

Old wise Ms. Toad told Princess Kaitlyn to find the silver seed amongst each of her favorite flowers and plant them separately in flower pots using the sand/soil from the magical lake. Once water from the magical lake touched the soil and seeds, they would grow into flowers that only bloomed under water for the mermaids. In addition, old wise Ms. Toad explained that if Princess Kaitlyn placed rainbow worms in her flower pots that these worms would make each flower extra vibrant in color and make each flower sparkle and shimmer like glitter. Princess Kaitlyn completed each of these tasks and presented flower pots to Mariana and her friends. Now the mermaid kingdom was full of color because of the beautiful flowers Princess Kaitlyn planted with old wise Ms. Toad's help.

Princess Kaitlyn prepared the sand for her flowerpots (took 12 oreos and crushed them with a rolling pin).
Princess Kaitlyn worked on digging up more soil (made instant chocolate pudding for the bottom layer of the soil/sand).
Princess Kaitlyn shook the soil to make sure it was ready (added three cups milk to instant chocolate pudding and shake, shake shake, shake, shake shake, shake the pudding...yeah!).
Princess Kaitlyn prepared her flowerpots.
Aunt Niki, Pa Clinton, and Gamma Linda helped put the soil in the flowerpots (small dixie cups worked wonders).
Princess Kaitlyn planted the special flower seeds in each flower pot (used M&M's and peanuts in the 'soil').

Princess Kaitlyn added the worms to ensure vibrant and shimmery colors (gummy worms were a hit).

Princess Kaitlyn finished making all of her flower pots. They looked great!!
Princess Kaitlyn thought they tasted great too!!
