Before I blog about PKK, here are two pictures of the girls.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Princess Kaitlyn who lived in a beautiful castle by an enchanted forest, a magical lake, and a fantastically fun playground. One day as Princess Kaitlyn skipped towards the magical lake to visit her mermaid friends, she noticed that all the trees, bushes, shrubs, and animals in the enchanted forest had turned white. They had no color at all! Princess Kaitlyn halted to a stop and stared at the forest. Her animal friends looked so sad and confused as to why the color left the forest. Princess Kaitlyn turned on her heels and ran back to the castle to make a magic elixir to restore the color to the forest.
How was Princess Kaitlyn going to restore the color...using jello!!
Princess Kaitlyn started with red, yellow, blue and green jello. She mixed colors to also have orange, purple, dark green and brown jello. She needed elixirs of all the colors of the rainbow and brown to restore the enchanted forest to it's beauty.
She poured the powder packets into separate bowls, let her mommy add the hot water, and stirred each one until the gelatin dissolved.
Princess Kaitlyn added yellow and blue to make green (yes, we already had green, but it was fun to mix colors to make more!).
Princess Kaitlyn confirmed that mixing blue and red made dark purple jello. It tasted pretty good too!
Here Princess Kaitlyn added red and yellow jello to make orange (we added a little too much red, so it was a dark orange).
The 'elixirs' made especially by Kaitlyn after mixing two colors of hello together - dark green, dark orange and dark purple. Now she has all the colors in the rainbow!
Once Princess Kaitlyn had all of her elixirs ready to restore color to the enchanted forest, she traveled back to it. Princess Kaitlyn carefully poured her elixirs throughout the forest. She poured every color on the flowers, green on the trees, shrubs, leaves, and brown on the ground and the roots. (Our yard worked wonderfully for pouring our diluted jello elixirs, wish I hadn't forgotten my camera). In no time, Princess Kaitlyn had restored color to the enchanted forest and the animals.
After going outside, Princess Kaitlyn waited patiently for the jello to get 'jiggly' so she could cut out animal shapes and celebrate the array of colors in the enchanted forest with her animal friends - Ferbur, Cookie Piepea, and the boisterous butterflies.
Unfortunately, as these animal shapes prove below, jello isn't really meant for cookie cutters. At least ours wasn't. So we just cut the rest up into squares. It's yummy in any shape!
Princess Kaitlyn enjoyed her day in the kitchen.
