PKK: National Cupcake Day

Quick snapshot of Madelyn before we begin...

Yes, Princess Kaitlyn had TWO Princess Kaitlyn Kitchen Activities in the same week because of national cupcake day. We couldn't pass up such a silly, yet delicious day without making rich, decadent, scrumptious chocolate peanut butter cup cupcakes.

So... Once upon a time there was a little girl named Princess Kaitlyn. She lived in a beautiful castle by an enchanted forest, a magical lake and a fantastically fun playground. As a treat for her classmates at school, Princess Kaitlyn and her mommy made special cupcakes for National Cupcake Day that everyone could eat at the fantastically fun playground.

Princess Kaitlyn and mommy made chocolate cupcake batter and added peanut butter cups (almost a whole bag) in wedge shapes to the batter for spooning into the cupcake molds. We topped each cupcake with peanut butter buttercream icing and one peanut butter cup wedge. I hate to brag, but they were DELICIOUS!! :-)

Princess Kaitlyn adding the dry ingredients and sifting them.

The raw chocolaty goodness in cupcake molds. Hurry up and bake!!

Our finished product...

It was adorable to visit the fantastically fun playground (really Kaitlyn's classroom) as the kid's finished up their cupcakes. I saw many chocolate smeared faces along with a crumb coated floor. I imagine nap time didn't go well for the rest of Princess Kaitlyn's friends as they were probably a little hyped up on sugar. Sorry teachers! It was worth it though because Princess Kaitlyn was very proud that she took such a fun treat to school to share with her friends!
